After a tumultuous year, Rob McDougall returns his renowned show "I'll Be Seeing You" to Claires Kitchen alongside the renowned Bev Kennedy to present some classic War Era music, some favorites from the world of Music Theatre, and Christmas classics. A heartwarming show delivered with a smile, and served with a giggle and a glass of fine French wine
At 31 years of age, Rob McDougall already has an impressive list of musical achievements to his name. Having amassed performance credits throughout Australia, Europe and America, Rob continues to build a reputation as a skilled and versatile musician and actor.
Rob has performed in most of Australia’s largest venues, including the Sydney Entertainment Centre, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Cricket Ground, ACER Arena and the Myer Music Bowl and has toured nationally with Newcastle Jazz group “Ultra Swing Lounge”, joining them in 2008.
In 2013, Rob was cast in the Australian National Production of “Les Miserables”, as Legles/Javert cover/Bishop cover and at 24 was one of the youngest in the world to perform Javert. Rob performed the role of “The Proprietor” in the Hayes Theatre company production of “Assassins”, joining them for an extremely successful season in the Sydney Opera House.
As a passionate advocate of regional education in the arts, Rob gives a great deal of time to ensuring regional students have the same musical opportunities that city students receive. He regularly gives workshops for the NSW Department of Education and is featured artists coordinator and conductor of CAPERS (Creative Arts in Public Education, Regional Spectacular) in Tamworth. In 2016 Rob was a conductor on the NSW West of the Divide tour of Europe, conducting in venues throughout Vienna, Salzburg and Prague. He conducted a similar tour of Vatican city, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia in 2019.
2019 also saw Rob and Daniel Belle present their show on the “Bravo” performance cruise, performing alongside Marina Prior, David Hobson and Bryn Tyrfel, and Rob has been touring his new Cabaret “I’ll Be Seeing You”. In 2020 he returned to the Role of Javert for Packemin Productions “Les Miserables” at Riverside Theatre, and was subsequently announced as Dr Neville Craven in the Australian production of “The Secret Garden”, playing opposite Anthony Warlow, which did not proceed due to COVID 19. He subsequently played the role of Walter in Very Popular Theatre Company Production of “Chess”.
