BILLY JOEL’S Hits & Mrs.

Internationally acclaimed vocalist/pianist Colin Salter performs the songs

that the famous piano man wrote for his 4 wives (Billy’s, not Colin’s).

His dynamic vocals, dexterous fingers and humorous anecdotes

fill this tribute show with an endearing style (Colin’s, not Billy’s).

As well as performing on stage, Colin has been Musical Director

for Lilly Savage (UK), Bob Downe and the late great Jeanne Little.

He was also the 1997 Sydney Cabaret Convention winner.

(Ted Davis Award)

Although Colin has held piano bar residencies in most of Sydney’s 5 Star Hotels, he is no stranger to the cabaret stage. He performed at The Tilbury Hotel in one of their first shows “Give Us a Break” with Sally McKenzie and Nick Holland and with Gary Scale and Genevieve Lemon in “Titanic - The Cabaret”. He has played piano for and was support act, touring nationally with Jeanne Little (Hello Darling, Marlene-A Tribute to Dietrich), Lorrae Desmond (NSW tour), Bob Downe (Pastel’s Cafe, Edinburgh Fringe) and Judith Lucy (Melbourne International Comedy Festival) and Internationally with Lilly Savage (Bloomsbury Theatre, London) and Dillie Keane (UK tour). Throughout the 90’s, he was pianist and performer in Tomfoolery (dir: Stuart Maunder) and The Piano Men(dir: Terrence O’Connell). He was a regular performer on Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton and in 1998 was the first recipient of the Ted Davis Award at the Sydney Cabaret Convention. Other piano bar residencies include Don’t Tell Mama in New York, L'Hôtel Californiein Paris and Upstairs Downstairs in The Kingdom Of Bahrain, as well as many contracts for Crystal Cruises and Princess Cruises. He has recorded 2 CD’s: “Somewhere Near Hollywood & Vine” and “9 O’Clock On A Saturday”, working with a 36 piece orchestra. Both albums were recorded and mastered at America’s legendary recording studios, Capitol Records in Los Angeles.

“…a polished solo performer who holds the stage with a relaxed flair.”

- Pamela Payne, The Sydney Morning Herald -
