Claire's pop up petit cabaret presents: GEORGINA HOPSON

Not one to ever shy away from the spotlight, this Broadway Bumpkin will never say no to holding court. So join her for an evening of music and stories, where she will undoubtedly spin some yarns (most likely very unfiltered and personal), rip some stupidly high notes, and predictably fang out a good music theatre ballad or two (or ten, who knows). Come down to Claire’s and have a feed while your ears are filled with the sweet sounds of bullshit and soprano – she won a Greenroom Award once, so she must be alright.
BIO
Georgina Hopson is one of Australia’s most exciting new leading ladies, fresh from winning a Greenroom Award for her performance as Mother in Ragtime (The Production Company). She’s a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium, a past recipient of the Rob Guest Endowment Award, and has also won a Matilda Award for Best Emerging Artist, for her work in Queensland Theatre.
You might have seen her in Evita (OA/GFO), My Fair Lady (OA/GFO), Sunday in the Park With George (Watch This), West Side Story on Sydney Harbour (OA), Oklahoma (TPC), Into the Woods as Cinderella (Harvest Rain), The Pirates of Penzance as Mabel (Harvest Rain), Mary Poppins as Mary (HOTA), or in Carrie as Sue Snell (Brisbane Powerhouse). Or you could have spotted her on TV as Wendy Hogan in the miniseries Hoges: The Paul Hogan Story (Fremantle Media).
Before the pandemic hit and everything got cancelled, Georgina was all set to star as Gussie Carnegie in Merrily We Roll Along for the Hayes, before playing the lead role of Lily in Opera Australia’s The Secret Garden. She’s going to claim these as a credits anyway because #2020.
