Vivacious, energetic, and possessing a powerful mezzo-soprano, Marienne is one of Australia's most popular singers, having achieved the rare distinction of being recognised equally for her success in opera, music theatre, and as a concert performer. Her artistic versatility encompasses the principal heroines, numerous recitals ranging from classical to contemporary. There's something very appealing about Marienne, whether it's in her charismatic interpretations of characters or her general enthusiasm for the music she sings. Not only is she passionate about what she does, she loves connecting with her public, an endearing quality in a world that is rife with snobbery. Listening to her is like seeing cream poured-- her voice flows in rich, smooth waves that you never want to end.Marienne is a singing actress and has studied and travelled extensively in Europe and Australia. Since1998, Miss Shepherd has featured as the principal mezzo-soprano with “Opera Afloat” on the M.V. Sydney 2000 Captain Cook Cruises, and later on The Rhythmboat.She has produced 3 cds - Songs by the "M", Marienne sings music theatre and Marienne sings opera.With immense talent and a voice that seems to get even better as it ages, Marienne has been and remains an operatic force to be reckoned with. She is thrilled to make her debut at Claire's kitchen,  accompanied by the wonderful maestro Mr Glenn Amer in a diverse programme from "Feed the Birds" to "Nessun Dorma".
