About the event

3 course dinner and 2 twenty minute sets live

There is an odd paradox that all creative artists must face whereby they are required to be at once open, vulnerable and revealing of their deepest, darkest natures while, at the same time being thick-skinned, eternally resilient and apparently impervious to the opinions of others, be they good, bad or, worst of all, indifferent. It’s enough to turn anyone schizophrenic!

Join Martin Crewes and Anne-Maree MacDonald for this musical exploration of the many contrasting faces of a singer of songs.

Martin recently performed the role of John Utterson in the 25th Anniversary Concert of Jekyll and Hyde with Anthony Warlow. He was seen last year in the Melbourne production of Dream Lover in the role of Steve Blauner, a role he created for the world premiere production in Sydney in 2016. His other stage credits include Sweet Charity, Assassins, Doctor Zhivago, South Pacific, Chess, Hair, Guys and Dolls, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Aspects of Love, Oh! What a Night, The Man From Snowy River Arena Spectacular and West Side Story. He performed the role of Marius in Les Miserables, in London’s West End, as well as in Asia, South Africa and in the Scandinavian Concert Tour. Other work in the UK includes Pal Joey, The Woman in White, directed by Trevor Nunn, and the Royal Shakespeare’s Company’s production of Merry Wives The Musical with Dame Judi Dench.

Martin won a Sydney Theatre Award and Glug Award for Doctor Zhivago, Green Room Awards for Hair and Sweet Charity and received Helpmann Award nominations for Oh! What a Night, Doctor Zhivago, Sweet Charity and Dream Lover

He has appeared on Australian television in A Place to Call Home, Crownies and Neighbours and in the UK in Dream Team, Casualty, Heartbeat, and, Bad Girls. His feature film credits include Resident Evil, DOA: Dead or Alive and the Aussie horror movie Patrick.
