Claire’s Kitchen regular, Meredith O’Reilly has put together an all new show which will be an entertaining and eclectic mix of Meredith’s all time favourite songs. The odd showtune of course but peppered with movie themes, pop and novelty hits, jazz and swing from across the decades of the 20th century. Of course the yarns about why they are her faves is all part of the fun.
Meredith played principal roles in the Australian productions Karaoke the Musical, Life Force and King of The Air as Charles Kingsford Smith’s mother (in concert at City Recital Hall, Sydney). Meredith’s autobiographical cabaret, Curtains, about her showbiz ups and downs was seen at Sydney’s Glen St Theatre and The Bondi Cabaret Festival in 2019 and in October 2020 at The Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith.
She is lead singer of the Big Band, Horns Plus and has appeared in many
commercials and guest roles on several TV dramas including in 2020 on Doctor Doctor and in 2021 in The Unusual Suspects on SBS and STAN. She's hosted radio shows & also narrated audio books for Vision Australia for 10 years.
In recent years Meredith was in GFO/Opera Australia’s productions of My Fair Lady, directed by Dame Julie Andrews, and The Sound of Music where she understudied both Sister Berthe and Frau Schmidt the housekeeper whom she played for 6 weeks. She was nominated for a Glug Award playing Sylvia St Croix in Ruthless! at The Seymour Centre. She played Grandma Addams in The Addams Family for New Theatricals at The Capitol Theatre. She was nominated for Helpmann & Green Room Awards for her role Hold Me-Touch Me in GFO’s The Producers. Other highlights include Love Never Dies (Understudy Mme Giry RUG), Les
Misérables (first Australasian tour)- Cameron Mackintosh, Hello Dolly! (GFO/ Adelaide Festival Trust), Chess ( Understudy Florence- Princess Theatre, Melbourne), The Rocky Horror Show (Star Casino, Paul Dainty Group- Magenta Alternate), and for The Production Company, Gypsy (Tessie Tura- directed by Nancye Hayes) and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying- Smitty.
With maestro Lindsay Partridge on keys, musical director of Cabaret,andassistant MD in the national tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.His extensive credits in musicals include Cats, Little Shop of Horrors, Georgy Girl, Side by Side by Sondheim, Annie, The King and I, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Grease, TheBoy From Oz, Wicked, Jerry Springer the Opera, The Full Monty, Dusty, Company, Pippin, The Lion King, Mamma Mia, Chicago, Crazy For You, Les Misérables, Pirates of Penzance, Me and My Girl and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.Lindsaytoured as keyboardist for Sting with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Other appearances with the SSO include Best of Broadway and Follies In Concert. In 2001 he performed in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People in The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber starring Elaine Paige. He accompanied Toni Lamond in her one-woman show Times Of My Life, as well as artists such as Marina Prior, David Hobson, Rachael Beck, Geraldine Turner, Donna Lee, Margi de Ferranti, Lorna Luft, Rob Guest, Paul Capsis, Jackie Love, Kane Alexander, Simon Burke, Maria Mercedes and Peter Cousens. Lindsay composed the children’s rock opera Mission Thraxonia, and sometimes played piano on the ABC’s Playschool.
