I met Bev Kennedy 14 years ago, Singing with Bev has always been absolutely joyous.

I always imagine it must feel like a dancer trusting someone to catch them after being thrown up into the air or an aerial artist as you fly towards someone’s outstretched hands. Or surfing (having never done it – or any of the above)

But sometimes standing on a stage singing feels as precarious and the feeling that someone is with you in a way that makes it totally okay… Extraordinary.

That’s what it feels like to sing with Bev and so I went back to the songs we’ve performed together for many year and the ones we especially love and I’m keen to investigate how they feel now.

After 14 years. Some of them even longer. Songs grow with you. They change as you do. Different things make me cry now and laugh. That’s the beauty of music, It’s ageless.

So this little show will be about being ageless and the gift of music that allows me to: SAY ANYTHING, BE ANYTHING, BE ANYONE… ESPECIALLY MYSELF!

There will be Leonard Cohen and Joni and Klezmer and Supertramp and David Bowie and Shirley Horn…
