Fresh from his triumphant lead role in the first professional play to return to the stage after Covid -”The Credeaux Canvas”, -Samson Alston turns his comedic and dramatic skills to a wonderful light hearted cabaret show using as its basic theme the idea of life starting to return to normal after lockdowns . In the show, the idea of the problems of the last twelve months serve as a background to some hopeful, uplifting and often comedic songs. Samson will present with the extraordinary Andrew Worboys a night of delightful entertainment from the young man who was recently described after his mainstream theatre debut as a “brutal talent”(Channel 7)
Samson Alston is a young actor who has burst onto the scene this past year. Samson has had several years of training working closely with Pippa Grandison, Tim Maddren and Nicholas Christo.
Samson has been lucky enough to have spent some time training in New York and has become a permanent student of renowned Acting Coach Sheila Gray who has mentored him . Since returning to Australia he regularly joins various top line professionals from all over the world to study with her online. Samson has also been invited at the first opportunity after the Covid crisis to become part of a small select group of young actors to have a month’s personal training with leading acting coach Tony Grego (well known as former manager and coach of Philip Seymour Hoffman)
Since gaining professional management Samson has starred in a national ad campaign for Vodaphone and Hungry Jacks and performed in a Zoom virtual production of the classic Australian play “Three Winters Green””. Samson is currently garnering enormous acclaim in the leading role of Winston in “The Credeaux Canvas”,at El Rocco theatre, the first professional live theatre production since lockdown.
